From its beginning, Boys & Girls Clubs of the River Region (BGCRR) has served as a beacon of hope for disadvantaged youth throughout the community. BGCRR provides youth development programs in a safe, caring, and positive environment for children throughout the area. We operate three clubs in the city – Chisholm, Mt. Meigs (DYS), and West End. Boys and Girls Clubs of the River Region appreciates the support of Boys and Girls Clubs of America and is proud to be a United Way Agency.
Who we are
We are the River Region’s leading youth development agency – a 501(c)(3) non-profit, locally governed agency devoted to providing hope and opportunity to all kids between the ages of 6 and 18, especially those who need us most. Each youth can become a member of a club for an annual membership fee of $5 per youth. We have three Clubs in Montgomery that help over 1300 kids grow into healthy, responsible, and caring young adults.
What we do
Club stories unfold every day that show our staff, our families, and our Club kids the most important role of the Boys & Girls Club: to provide our kids with the opportunity to belong, to succeed, to serve their communities, and to share their voice with the world. We provide youth with the essential elements to succeed in Academic Success, Character and Leadership and Healthy Lifestyles. Club kids have new experiences every day that give hope to those that need us most. This is why 57% of alumni surveyed nationally say the Club actually “saved my life”.
